Diamond iPad announced even before Apple releases new product to market
March 12, 2010
Apple’s exciting new iPad will only reach the market on April 3, but a deluxe version, the Diamond iPad, is already in production.
The Diamond iPad, which is being produced by Mervis Diamond Importers, will feature 11.43 carats of diamonds, hand-set in an oblique micro-pave style. The company says they will be G and H colours and VS2 to SI1 in clarity. The Mervis Diamond iPad will costs $19,999, which is somewhat less than 20 times the cost of the non-diamond version.
According to Mervis, the Diamond iPad will be released to the market in June, and only in very limited quantities.
This is not Mervis Diamond Importers’ first foray into the unusual diamond-set object market. Last year it received coverage for the release of the Diamond Dreidel.
